I just changed the BMW "Lifetime" differential oil with Redline 75W90.
2 Quarts Redline 75W-90
2 Oil Drain/Filler plugs with Oring
14mm Hex Drive
Floor Jacks/Jackstands
Oil collection pan
Oil Hand Pump
Ensure differential oil is at Normal Operating Temperature before raising the car on jacks.
Place oil pan underneath. Open drain plug, drain and properly dispose off used oil.

how many miles did you have?
and how did the old oil look?
was there a magnet on the drain plug?

Oil is dark.
No magnet.

I don't buy their "Lifetime Oil" mantra. It's so easy, a caveman can do it.

Yes Sir. I do it at 5-7 K intervals.

I recall BMW remove drain plug in some cars to make our life not easy to change the fluid. In this case, we will need to suck diff. oil out .... ( I don't think it will complete go out ), or open the case to let it drip. I have 2009 535xi, needs to do transfer case too. There is a big plastic cover under the case, once I hit 30K miles, I am going to do it. ( for both transfer case and diff)
Yes, I did change my oil every 5K to 7.5K depends on my schedule. Rotate tires in every oil change... I am 18K miles now, all four original tires wear even, it has been rotate three times, no ill effect happens.
