Thumbs up

I was washing my car today and i decided to give the grill a good clean, whilst i was drying the grill area i noticed that behind my grill there were flaps which were closed. Now this is where i get confused as my car is a 2004, I thought that only the 2007 > had these as part of the Efficient Dynamics. Am i looking at the same things here?

Thanks,

Thanks,
My car is 2004 too and I have them also. It's been discussed a lot here and it seems that some people have them, some don't, whatever model year the car is.

I have a 2008 model 535d and I have never seen any flaps working. I am assuming they forgot to fit it to my grills.

cheers

I have them, they don't seem to have any sort of actuator attached, they're just loose. I'll get a pic tomorrow if I remember.

I'm sorry about the messy front .
This pic was taken during my mtech install. Those flaps are visible through grilles when bumper is in its place too.

Did that other discussion not come to the conclusion that these may be related to the cold weather pack? I seem to recall, for some reason, that the discussion went in that direction. My car does not have them, but I have seen similar-aged ones across the border in Germany that do.

Could be. At least it sounds reasonable.

I think its more related to the Sports arent fitted with them and the non sports have them, nothing to do with the cold weather package. This is still true on the LCI cars although there have been a couple of people with new 535d non sports and they don't have the flaps either.
