X-pipe versus 2 inlet / 2 outlet Muffler

I have been looking over other posts but did not find an answer to may question.

I am going to have a custom quad exhaust put on my 530i tomorrow. Most people recommend using an x-pipe for low end torque. I am concerned about noise (I want quiet).

Rather than including the X-pipe upstream would a single dual inlet / dual outlet muffler provide the same benefit? Then I could add a circular muffler w/ "Y" tips on each side at the back.

from the X-pipe down, connect use 2 resonators in the piping (will help the drone) for each side

Yes, magnaflow has such a muffler which will fit in place of the single "Y" resonator on a 530. That muffler does incorporate a internal "X" pipe. While Magnaflow will not quote flow rate, they claim it's good for 400 HP. I intend to use this muffler with dual 12" resonators out back, if I think the sound is to aggressive. Post how yours works out, I won't be doing mine for serveral weeks.
