Before I got my B&B, I looked into some dual exhausts - Hamann and Eisenmann. When I learned that their "dual" exhaust systems was only a single muffler with a dummy second pipe, I decided it wasn't worth double the money for an extra pipe. Are the duals exhausts systems still like this or have some companies come out withe true dual setups? Can the guys with the dual exhausts let me know? Now what I am considering is having my muffler guy just weld on a second pipe and add on some tips for me. The thing is, I will need to cut off my B&B tips and find a matching set of 2 for the dual setup. What do you guys think about this mod? I really like the look of the dual exhausts so I'm hoping that it wouldn't look too weird.

I've heard that there are true dual exhaust systems, I think one by ACS, I'm not sure though. When I was at Car Nutz they said that in order to do a true dual exhaust you have to modify your rear wheel well. Or I suppose you could remove your spare tire and modify that compartment.

Depends on your definition of true dual. My definition is that there has to be two mufflers. In which cause the Eisenmann exhaust is not a true dual. It looks real case exahust will come out of the second pipe, but the pipe is just run out of a single muffler and around the spare tire compartment.

That was the one I had seen before, nice find Longyong. I'm pretty sure wheel well mods still need to be done with this though.

The Eisenmann and Hamann exhaust have dummy pipes on the right side. I've seen them. Only the RD Sport exhaust is a true dual exhaust and it doesn't require any modifications to fit. You'll notice that they angled the muffler on the right side so that it will fit in the narrow slot next to the spare wheel compartment.

BTW, AFAIK, RD Sport is the only company right now that makes stainless exhaust manifolds and high flow cats for the E60. Total package with exhaust will run you close to $10K but the manifolds alone will increase your hp by 25, per their claims.

I was just thinkin the other day, if it would be possible to snag the exhausts off of a 645/650 and modify just the tips for an M5 look.

Since the 2 cars share a lotta parts (maybe even chassis) the modifications should be minimal.
Does anyone have any experience with this???

The e60 and e63 do have the same chassis, but like others have mentioned, the issue will be getting the right-side pipe to work it's way around the spare tire compartment. I don't think the muffler from the 6 series will fit.

Sorry, I don't have experience with this but the fact that RD has a set-up that works is proof enough that it can be done.
