Batteries are a regular topic in this forum. With winter upon most of us in the United States it's likely to be a more regular topic.
As a matte of fact, even though I drive my 530xi regularly since the battery is about 3+ years old I've decided that this winter it'll be set up to be easily connected to a battery tender when idle for 2-3 days at a time or during stretches of very very cold temperatures.
While this consumer magazine didn't test the battery sizes and types used in our cars, the information they presented may serve as a general indication of what the "objective" views this one source has reported.
