Ok guys I know it's been gone over before about fmic's for the 5 series, but I talked to Michael at extreme turbo systems and he'd be willing to give it a shot. He builds intercoolers for all the late model turbo'ed cars. Evo's wrx's and alike. Including the 335. The difference is, his 335 I/C is not stepped so the power steering coil dose not come into play. His unit seems to make good power, he has had a couple group buys on the e90 forum. Plus there cheaper than most of the other units.

My problem is he's in vancouver wa. Too far away for me to get there. So are any 535 owners local to his shop that have interest in a fmic? And could lend there car for a week?

I'm guessing that a fmic kit can be put together cheaper using universal parts, if you have the time, patience, and know-how.

I fabbed up a universal "bar & plate" front mount on my nissan with all the necessary couplers(reducers, 90's, 45's, and straights), T-bolt clamps, and aluminum U-bends that I cut and pieced together the kit for around $300.

Food for thought

The reason why the e60 n54 engines don't have a fmic is because all the oil lines are hardlined (making it difficult to relocate) The oil cooler is also in a different location compared to the 335. The 535 intercooler is also larger than the 335.

stock 335

the 3 series one looks bigger? maybe juss fatter.

the problem is the power steering coil. at least for most of the fmic out there

the ets could possibly fit in the same spot as the stock one with a better core like it dose for the 3 series

If you can get one that would be awesome. A few of us have been trying to get fmic since 2008. I gave up obviously and moved on to a different vehicle all together. Good luck. Keep us posted
