hey just wondering what the ideal offsets are for my 530i for 19in (x8.5,9.5... assuming it depends on the wheel size?) and what the boundaries are if any as to what absolutely would not work? any help is appreciated as i am obviously clueless when it comes to offsets

i wonder who would know about offsets on this forum

the widest ive been able to go without rubbing or serious fender modification is as follows

20x9.5 et5 and 20x11 et14

HOWEVER this is also due to running falken 452 tires in the following sizes: 225/35/20-255/30/20

i might be able to push the fronts out more to make it 20x9 et3 but the rears are flared and rolled and there isnt anymore room to push it out farther without going widebody or something retarded

yes exactly, you want lower offset numbers with wide wheels to get a proper stance

if i had wheels with offsets that were larger would spacers to push the wheels out be like having smaller offsets?

yes

if you have lets say 19x8.5 +30 then adding +15 spacers would push it out to +15 overall and it would sit roughly a half inch wider push out from the inner fender

the best thing to to get offsets in +10 to +25 for your wheels if you dont want a sunken look, but honestly, the e60 fenders are super deep so you have tons of room for wide widths and low offsets, the problem is most people get meaty tires so they rub like crazy
