Guys I was curious to see what BMW listed for their rec. tire pressure on the 19's that come on the 550i sport package with non-runflats

I increased to 19s from runflat 18s and curious if there is a different rec for the pressure. Intuitively you need more pressure to get anywhere near stiffness of the runflats but I am wondering what bmw says about this. Apparently their suspension was tuned for the runflats so when changing to non runflats I am thinking a highe rpressure is necessary and that is what I do-40ish rear and 36ish front

From memory (not able to look at my car right now), I think it's 35psi front and 39psi rear...

Gene's right (and my memory isn't what it used to be.) Here's what the 2008 (LCI) owner's manual says:

Thanks-sorry I didnt know how to access a 08 above manual-I have an 07.

I find that really interest-On one hand with 19s you have a shorter sidewall which resists roll more than the sidewall on 18s. So maybe that is why tire pressure with non-runflats is pretty much the same with runflats on 18s.

Need a 1 to 1 comparison-I need a car that uses the exact same size tires/wheels but offers run flats and non runflats. I guess this does not help my question other than knowing what bmw reccomends which is good for my application but for theory-

I wonder if bmw offered 18inch non runflats if it would be higher than the recs for 19 non runflats due to the higher sidewall that is inherently less stiff due to height

Each owner's manual for the E60 can be found on the information page here:
https://5series.net/information/

What's going to make things tricky is that I seem to remember that BMW changed the recommended pressures some time in 2005. Here's a link to a thread where we discussed this (and posted photos of the door jamb stickers from different cars):

You posted a link to this thread we are posting on??

Well from the research on the net I did with various bmws with runflats and without, the concencus is with 19 inch non runflats at 40rear 36 front is about what is right if you want an equivelent that bmw reccomends. As always you can increase or decrease to your liking-I find this pressure works well for me and has not wore out my tires unevenly

Ooops! Was in a hurry and must've copied the wrong link from one of the many browser tabs I had open.

Here's the link I meant to post:
