Question Wheel Specs

What's up guys! I'm new to threads, and new to 5series.net

Nonetheless, could anyone help me figure out what wheel specs I should go with for my 06' 530i?
Currently, I'm looking at Matte Gunmetal Enkei RS05-RRs, in 18x9.5 +23 and 18x10.5 +22 for my car, since most vendors are running a Enkei sale at the moment. As for tires, I think I want to run Achilles ATR Sport 2s in 245/35 up front, and 265/35 out back. I know I'm kind of

cheaping out on tires, but this is my first car and I don't really push the car, I drive 5 under posted speed limits usually haha.

As far as I know everything should sit really flush, I want a aggressive, almost track stance to the car. I believe I have to run 10mm spacers up front to clear the BC Racing coilovers I have coming in, but other than that I don't know what else I should really look out for.

You have a N52. How's the engine?

This is my first car, and the only thing I have to base it off of is a GK5 Honda Fit. It's not really that fast, and I have yet to do a muffler delete so I don't really know if it sounds all that great. However it hasn't given me any issues, I changed out my expansion tank and a coolant hose and it's been fine ever since. The oil level sensor doesn't work and the car kinda gets hot after driving? But I drive really conservative, never crossing 4k RPM, so I'm not sure what to think. Anything specifically you want to know?

That doesn't sound too good IMHO, but if you're not throwing any codes or notifications, you should be good.

Yeah, I just presumed its because 6 cylinders run hotter than four. Is there a way to check temps in the car? I see there's a stalk under the left indicator stalk by the steering wheel but, I have no clue what it does.

I asked because the N52s has issues and was checking to see if it's running good or not. Have you had it checked out by a Indy shop or ran your own scan on it. Your temps will have to be done by OBD2. There is a way to look at the temp via KOMBI but I forget the steps since I use my computer for diagnosis.

When I took it to a indy shop, they said the coolant system needed work and that my front strut is blown, which it is (I have coilovers being custom made right now, they should be here in two weeks). I currently don't own a diagnostic tool, and my computer is a full gaming rig which I can't really move haha. Would you recommend any specific diagnostic tools? Something integrated with my phone would be cool, but I'm up for whatever.

I've owned several BMW code readers (4).

All of them basically read codes, but which one to buy depends on how deep you want to go down the diagnostics rabbit hole. I just needed one to do battery management and airbag reset. I paid like $80 for that one. I had one that just basically read codes, and was $44.

Ok just be aware that the N52 engines have issues and will start giving you problems. You should get you a cheap used laptop and a K + DCAN cable to install the software needed to troubleshoot and program the car. At a minimum Carly is a start. You can find it in your phone apps store. I don't use it but it's a start.
