Tire Questions for 20's
I'm currently on 20x8.5 et20, 20x10 et20 MRR GT-1 wheels wrapped with Falken FK452 245/30 & 285/25 tires. One of my rear tires has a bulge and needs to be replaced. All the tires have good tread at 7-8/32nds.
Ideally I'd like to have more sidewall and go up to 275/30, but I'm concerned the size being so much bigger than the front, it will affect the drivability.
1) 285/30? 295/25? I know the sidewall won't be that much bigger, but any little bit to help rim protection and handling is ideal.
2) I'm reading certain manufacturers run "narrower" than others. Going up in size with the same model Falkens net the same size as some other brand 275/30?
3) issues running different brands from the front to back?
Eventually I'll go up when I replace all 4 but with the tires still with good tread I'd like to keep the costs down.
Suggestions? Thanks

West- thanks for your input. Nice ride you have! Looks great. I also see you're in The Seattle area. I'm just north in Everett. In any case when you had 295s were you lowered? I'm just on sport suspension and wonder if I do go up to 295 if I'd also rub? What size you running now?

Really its like turning slightly, going slow, speed bump, rub. But not even enough to show a sign of wear. and its the fronts only. I have never had 4 people in the car...so i cant say about that but over all very happy and im picky! Iv tracked this setup and it worked fine. Doing coils this summer to get it really dialed in and low! The tires are the Hankook Ventus V12. Again very surprised how well these have treated me and my lead foot!

My Ride: 2007 BMW 525i sport package.
I bought a set of 20" wheels w 255/35/20 up front and 285/30/20 rear. The rear tire fit my car no rubbing but the front did not work at all. The suspension was right on top of the tires. so I went down to 245/30/20 and now I have no issues at all. Forgot to mention I have 525i E60 sport suspension.
