Hi guys this is my first post. I've just bought an Imola Red E61. I though I'd post in the E60 section because my issue is relevant to both models.
Before I fitted the genuine 166M wheels I did lots of research to make sure the tyre size and offsets would work and I couldn't fine anyone online with issues at the front. I've fitted 245 35 R19 tyres (the same as OEM size on the 172m) and no spacers but I'm getting rubbing on the top of the arch when I go over speed humps. Is this normal or is it maybe a problem with worn suspension?
Thank you in advance
PS here is my car

As you can see by the above link, Style 166 wheels have an offset of ET 12 and 28 for the rears. Offsets for E60-61 xi cars are more in the ET 35 - 45 range. I'm not sure where you read your information, but we have had an extensive discussion thread on xi wheels here for many years.
The bottom line is that OEM Style 166 wheels do not fit properly resulting in the issues you are experiencing. I myself have replica 166 wheels on my xi for this very reason.
You have beautiful car, by the way! Welcome to the forum!

Hi thank you for the warm welcome, I'm going to be spending a lot of time on here!
Sorry I should've made clear my car is not an Xdrive version.
I've seen plenty of people with genuine 166M on the front without reporting problems and the offset is only 6mm more agressive than factory fitted 172m (and everything else being even).
It seems to be rubbing on the top of the wheel well when driving in a straight line
