Default M5 vs Non-M Wheel Offset

I found a set of preowned wheels I have been looking for forever and I want to pull the trigger on, but I'm concerned with them not fitting properly. I don't know if the clearances and fenders are roughly the same from an '08 M5 (which the wheels are off of) and my '08 550i on coilovers. I know on the 3 series, the M3 has much different cleanances than non-M due to more aggressively flared fenders, but the 5 series doesn't look the same. Any advice would be great.

Wheel Specs are:

Front: 20x9, ET 8, 255/35/20
Rear: 20x10, ET 22, 285/30/20

I don't believe the wheels will be a problem - you didn't mention which rims they are - but the tire sizes are different between a M and non-M to avoid rubbing.

wheels according to offsets wouldnt be a problem but the front may be a bit too aggressive, but +1 those tire sizes will. with any rubbing issues you can always roll the fenders but for the E60, according to rolling diameter for those wheel dimensions the tires should be 245/30/20 and 275/25/20. we usually recommend thicker sidewalls though with sizes 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 to have more rubber, but would greatly increase the chance of rubbing which can be cured with rolling the fenders.

You might have problems in the front. The rear should fit fine.

I had rubbing with my 20x9 et20 255/35/20 in the front. I swapped to a 245/35/20 and I have zero rubbing.

Thanks all. I was concered about the front. I test fit this wheel in 21" last week and the rear was fine, actually perfect. The front was 21x9.5, et18, and it interfered with my strut on the inside. The only spacers I had at the time pushed it wayyy outside the fender.

So different front tires, rolled fenders, slight camber adjustment, and the front will be ok, I hope.

You still thinking about the 21" Hartges? They did look sweet on your car, I was wondering the same thing after you left, with a small spacer (5mm) and a fender roll, if its possible.
