The 17 offset is for an M6. Mine are 12 offset. The lesser number, the farther it sticks out.

If you have the 166 M5 offset, they will rub. I have the 275/35 on the rear and they rub with the sport suspension. I have the tool to roll the fenders with but have not done it yet. If you don't have the sport suspension you might get by on it.
For mine, the 245/35 for the front and 285/30 would not have rubbed at all. I found something that BMW put out on using the M5 166 offset on an non-M5 car and that is what they recommended. For me, they were too low of a profile and I was afraid of bending a wheel.
We get very positive comments everywhere we go with the car. I have a 535i, can't say for sure on the 545, but I would think they are the same.

I was thinking of getting a new set of 19" or 20" Interad LeMans wheels for my '04 E60 525i (with an M5tech body kit).

I know absolutely nothing when it comes to wheels, and this thread has done nothing but confuse me even more in regards to buying the "perfect" wheel/tyre size.

Can anyone recommend any tyre sizes for a 20" wheel?

helps if you can post wheel specs along with what suspension you are on...perhaps a separate thread will also help...

I'm currently on stock suspension and have not purchased a set of wheels yet, so I'm still open to opinions. But I think I'll make my own thread.
