Back spacing for aftermarket wheels
Ok, I'm looking around for some aftermarket wheels for my 2006 530xi. I'm down with the whole offset, lug spacing, wheel bore, width height etc etc. What's the deal with back spacing? I'm moving up from a 17" to an 18" square setup. Here's where I'm at regarding the wheel I'm looking at......
Brand: Aodhan
Model: AH-X
Partnumber: AHX1885512035SMF
Color: Gloss Silver with Machined Faces
Backspacing: 6.13
Offset: +35
Wheelsize: 18
Wheelwidth: 8.5
Hubbore: 72.60
Wheel Exposed Lugs: Yes
Wheel Material: Rotary Forged
Wheel Structure: One Piece
Wheel Spoke Number: 7
Wheel Style: Mesh
Introduced: 2020
Bolt Patterns: 5x1125x1205x114.3 (5x4.5)
Everything seems like it will fit, along with some 245-40/18 tires. I just don't know whether the back spacing will be correct. Anybody?

Here's some information that you can incorporate into your decision: Wheel Specs | Wheel Specialists, Inc.
Backspacing is simply the distance from the extreme back edge of the rim to the mounting surface. In your case, there is 6.13 inches from where the wheel mounts against your rotor to the outside of the rim. Since you are planning to mount a 245 tire, you should be okay fit-wise. But I don't like your choice of wheels for two reasons:

But I don't like your choice of wheels for two reasons:
- The proper E60 hub bore is 72.5, which means you will need to use a .10 concentric ring to compensate. Otherwise, your wheel will vibrate at higher speeds.
- The fact that your intended purchase will accommodate different bolt patterns means that you are looking at a "universal" rim. To some people it might not matter, but I hate the look of wheels with all of those extraneous holes.

OK but
We're talking .1 mm here not a full mm. I've actually seen that OEM wheels center bore are closer to 72.56mm . I could see needing rings for something like a 74.1 bore but one tenth of a mm? Also, it's not a universal lug spacing wheel, it just comes in all the different lug spacings. I appreciate your feedback. Just trying to clarify a few things. Here's a pic of said wheel to show the lug spacing. I think they look relatively cool (I'm 66 y/o LOL) and are rotary forged which is better than the gravity cast junk out there. Whaddaya think?

Thanks for the clarification on the lug spacing. I think you still may need some sort of ring for the hub however. But go for it and try them and see. You can always add them after you experience the vibrations. Nice wheels.

That is my daughters 08 328xi and Nokian ZLine A/S P235/40R-18. I bought some Aodhan lug bolts I think 28mm long. Stock is 26mm I believe.
She is using the stock beat up bolts on the stock 158s with Blizzaks in winter.
Those are the LS002, 18 x 8, 35ET.
Those Nokians were 413.86 delivered from Simpletire
What are you thinking for tire brand and size?
For a 245/40/18 Nokian Zline delivered it is 404.69, I didn't check to see if there is tax. Again from Simpletire.
I have ordered three sets from them in the last year and they have had the best price

She had Continental run flats before so they are better.
I drove it briefly and thought they were okay, she likes them.
Maximum bang for the buck from where I am standing. We will see in 3-4 years maybe less, if noise develops.
