Hi guys I just bought an 07 525xi it has the standard 17" wheels without runflats.

I am going to need tires it has khumo ecsta's on it from the previous owner that are at 3/32nds. I live in the poconos area of pa, I don't really want to buy dedicated snow tires since there's really only a few months of the season left an I want to get a dedicated summer tire then run snows next season. So I was going to take my tax return and get summer tires but what are your guys thoughts how early can I start running a summer tire and what do you guys recommend for this car? My one buddy said he wouldn't run anything but a sumitomo htr z III on his 94 325 when he had it.

So I'm just looking for your guys recommendations I am hoping to get 19" wheels and tires for it next summer.
