So ever since becoming a member on this forum I have noticed that there aren't many vendors/sponsors on this forum, and I was wondering why. I've noticed that we don't seem very accepting to new vendors and sometimes maybe even hostile. Lately I find myself always going back to the vendors/sponsors from a e46 forum that I was active in before to buy things. The reason I keep going back there is because I am getting products substantially cheaper and same service from those vendors. Is there something this forum can do to bring in more vendors thus creating more competition so that in the end we the consumers benefit? Now I don't mean to upset any of our current vendors here as they have been very good to us, but I think some healthy competition and more product options would be great for everyone here.

Just my 2 cents.

i think there is animosity due to the fact that members here have been ripped off really bad, and we are just looking out for the new members.

+1, and the prices of some of the new vendors shift like the stock market from day to day.

Haven't some vendors moved to a E60 sub-category? Maybe that is why there may be fewer seen on E60 Discussion cat.

I think the more strict anti-bumping rules might be another reason we don't see so many posts but if like me you make use of the 'View new posts' link they are still there.

New vendors will and should have a hard time until they prove themselves, it's not like they officially sponsor the site.

I believe Iceman states it pretty well on occasion...this is a discussion board not a market place. While I agree that there are few vendors here, the ones we have do have competitive pricing and great service. The newer vendors that come in do have a hard time getting established because members have been swindled out of money making them cautious of new vendors.

e60.net also does not have sponsors, and relies solely on donations by it's members. Members here (including myself) make an effort to support vendors that have donated to this forum.

***I think this will be moved to the site suggestions and comments section as well

All good points guys, and it is too bad that so many members have been ripped off in the past. Do you guys think it might be benefitial for the site to take sponsorships? I just seems that there are a lot of good vendors out there that don't seem too interested in our forum, I realize that this is a discussion forum and not a market place but don't you think it would be nice to have a larger base of trusted places to buy stuff from instead of always having these "what do you think of this ebay guy" posts. Also its hard for a vendor to prove themselves if no one is willing to buy from them, for instance a little while ago a vendor by the name of Khoalty came to this forum with a few products to offer no one paid much attention to him and now he doesn't look on this forum anymore, now I have personally bought a bunch of quality stuff from him at much cheaper prices and he is a good vendor whome I now have to go back to the e46 forum to get a hold of him to buy stuff. I just think its too bad because in the end its us the members that are losing out.
