I appriciate the civil discourse that goes on at this site. I am a 59 year old man who is just thrilled to being taking delivery of his 530i at the Delivery Center in Jan. If anyone has any advice about the center, I woild love to hear.

I am a proud new owner of a E50 530i, however I am a little disappointed with the plastic insert used to cover the rear climate area below the armrest (the place where rear seat heater controls would normally be). does anyone know of an aftermarket replacement or remedy with some wood insert? Thanks-

In Europe, I believe there is a nice tray there instead of the plastic with the noticeable cutouts. I don't know the part numbers or anything, but I believe you can order them, and hopefully soon, or after the holidays, someone from overseas will answer your post and provide a picture. The tray is a much better solution.

I think there's going to be a lot of parts moving (aftermarket) from Europe to the US for the E60.

My list starts with the red reflectors instead of the black plastic inserts on the rear of the car.

I just ordered the rear seat heating package to fill in those spots. It was $350 and it may even be used once in a while.

And how many hours would the dealer spend installing it to your seats..?

No no no, I ordered it as a factory option after seeing pictures of the rear plastic plugs.

I've always liked your site, Das. Thanks for all the info.

Hopefully these forums will be more civil than roadfly

This was when the mod bug started to spread on the forum.
Yap, I started with the simple Red "Euroflector" that wasn't available in the states.

Note: I will not apologize for resurrecting this [historic] thread .
