Why is it that when you open a topic to read you will always have to start with the first and consequently the oldest post instead of the latest post done to that topic.
This means that I need to scroll down and/or click on "quick" buttons 1,2,3, etc. next to the thread headline and scroll down to the last row to read the latest, most recent post.

It should be the other way around. When I open a thread, it should show the last post i.e. the most recent post in that thread.

Just my HO.

When you're at the main page of a forum, there is a small orange box in front of the thread title for any thread which has new posts since the last time you visited. Click on the orange box and it will take you to the first unread post.

agreed, and what would really be good is an option to view all posts in a thread on a single page if that's possible with the board software?

You can crank up the "Number of posts to show on each page" setting in "My Controls" (found in the "Board Settings" page) to a maximum of 40.

That helps out a bit but I agree that you need to utilize the "new posts since last visit" feature to help keep the scrolling down...

Yup, a side benefit to changing the setting to 40 is that it makes the Singapore thread only 76 pages!
