i know im new here, but on every other forum i have been a member of, they have swear filters running.

my son and daughter often look over my shoulder and read the contents on here, and i cant beleive the amount of swearing/profanities being used mainly from USA.

am i just getting too old? or is this mainstream now?
i would expect this from a "ricer" forum, but from a BMW forum where the guys must have a reasonable income to afford there cars, i am very supprised,

There are times when your wheels get nicked, car gets keyed or the dealer takes you for a ride when the only thing that can express yourself is a swear word. Its often quite difficult to implement a word filter because people can still type in a swear word without the filter catching it. Hint : All the FCUK t-shirts

I know those filters from other places... and there's allways a way around.

Something that makes our community so special is the fact that we don't have many rules. We judge by common sense.
When speaking about other places we also have to keep in mind that mostly they don't allow too much non-sense posts/threads.

Our forums are entertaining, they are fun, and we learn a lot about our cars.
If there's too much swearing... we will react. There's a report feature.

Kids looking over your shoulder... Well, I don't think there's something here that would be new to them...
I know there's a lot of swearing in school...

Now, back to the filter... I don't think there is one for this software. All the IPB forums I have seen didn't used such filters...

But that is a question that Lomag can answer.
