any chance we can upgrade the e60 forum software?
from http://lasdreserve.com/index.php?showtopic=17
i see that RSS is alive and well on newer versions of the software.
this would make it easy for me to include the e60 content on my regular homepage where i read the news, weather, and other info in the mornings (and late at night)
thanks!

Hmm... they are running version 2.1.0 while we have 2.1.4 so they're accually having an older version. RSS is not working here? I know that's new in the 2.1.x branch.

I looked into it and it needs to be enabled but it only can be enabled for one sub-forum per RSS feed so I've enabled it for the "E60 Discussion" forum showing the first 25 threads. Let me know if that works or should be limited to the first 10 or expanded to 100 or anything. I'm not very familiar with RSS

It works great!
top of page
actual e60 inclusion
if any one else wants to try.
first open up the e60 discussion forum.
Look in the bottom right hand corner where it says "RSS"
go ahead and click on it + e60forum -- which will popup.
if you see a page that looks like code -- you are on the correct page. Just take the url http://......
copy it (Control-C, or highlight and right-click "copy")
open up http://my.yahoo.com
click on "add content" (upper left hand area)
then click on "add RSS by URL"
then just paste in the URL and press OK.
this will give you another entry-point to see your up-to-date e60 info with your other news and stocks.
thanks again!

I think 10 is the sweet spot. (25 was too many entries on the page)
and yes -- I would love to see the parts subforum added.
thanks!

Hi Mark:
I've been playing around with the RSS feeds on my google and yahoo pages. Works nicely, but info seems outdated. Do you know the refresh rate for the RSS feed?
I am comparing the list of topics on the actual e60 discussion page with the rss feed, and they don't seem to match.
Thanks

Hey Mark,
I know that the "View New Posts" selection is not really a subforum, does that mean that you can't add that to the RSS? Everytime I visit E60.net I search for my user name to see if there is any new activity in the threads that I participated in, and after that I click on "View New Posts" because it shows the newest posts in ALL of the subforums in one place. If there is any way to include the search for user name and/or New Posts in an RSS it would be very cool.

The refresh rate is set to 0 minutes which I assume is instant updating. View new posts would be nice but there's no way for the rss to know your username and all that information -- it only lets me select specific sub forums.
