this isnt the first time Mods and even Lomag has specifically made reference to the inappropriateness of the pictures like that here. still, people continue to use the pics, and then mock the person who suggests they may be inappropriate. I dont see anyone mocking Rudy or Iceman or Lomag

OKay folks... lets all calm down and take a breather. I honestly have to agree that these types of pictures are not appropriate on a car forum. That's my my personal opinion. If I'm a member of a car forum I would make my avatar something car related. If I where a member of a music forum, I would make my avatar something music related. etc, etc, etc... As you all know, we've always been very liberal with the site and forums. There is very little moderation other than the deletion of spam and this has worked out well for years. Generally, I trust our members to use common sense and act like adults and for the most part everyone has. I applaud you all for that. However, as the community has grown, there seems to be more of a need for some type of rules.

I read a post somewhere in this thread that said something to the effect of that we don't allow such images in the Lounge or anywhere else in the forums so why should they be allowed in avatars? That's a great point and it got me thinking. As an extension of the original rule, we're going to take the position of cleaning up the site from such images, in avatars, in personal photos, in signatures, or anywhere on the site. Please don't upload such photos here. I'm not going to institute any kind of moderation for images/avatars/etc.. that's just too much IMO but I do trust our members will respect this decision and not upload such photos any longer. If you have a questionable photo in your avatar or signature, please remove it. I'm absolutely not going to hunt members down and check photos. I will remove questionable items as I come across them and on a complaint by complaint basis which can be PM'd or emailed to me and will be treated anonymously.

Well, this forum has been on for a long time and have not had any complains about avatars/sigs until now! How about car meets or car shows(MFEST at Kress Bikini Contest) that have models half naked women modeling for a car? I guess we cannot share, post pics of those kinds of events anymore.

While I like some of the picture, I have to agree that sometimes I'm hesitant to browse. My work really doesn't care, but a lady sits behind me, so reading a post that has a thong thats wet on a girl may not be the most appropriate if she looked. I guess everyone should just use best judgment.
