Has anyone else seen peculiar results when using the view new posts feature of the board? I use it quite often but the last day or so it's been giving me a small listing of new posts since my last visit. For example, if I leave the forum at midnight and go to sleep, in the morning, at say 8am, if I press view new posts it will only show posts back to 6am or so -- even though there were many more posts between midnight and 6am...

Anyone else having this issue?

(just in case, I deleted all cookies and changed my password... )

I don't use that often however I checked it out and it appears to be OK, atleast for me.

On the main index it says:
Welcome back; your last visit was: Yesterday, 08:09 PM

When I check View New Posts, the "oldest new post" was made at 8:46 PM yesterday. Perhaps your visiting the site and not even knowing it?

I use that feature a ton and until the last day or so, it's worked fine. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it happens again...

 

only problem with it that i had was just last night. i didnt check the new posts since the night before, but when i checked it last night it was the opposite of you. it listed posts that i have already read so it was even more posts that were listed. that's the only time it happened. this morning when i clicked it it was fine. i too use the "view new posts" the most.

 

I use "view new posts" exclusively and haven't seen any problems. I just checked this visit and it was right on.

It seems to be working fine for me too now. I'm not sure but maybe something was screwed up with one of my cookies?

The only other possibility that I can think of is that someone hacked my account and logged in? Lomag, I'm pretty sure I didn't access the site last night between around 11:00pm EST and this morning around 9:00am. Do the logs show that my account was logged in during that time interval?

 

Something must have gone whacky with your cookies. Even for me usually once a week or once per 2 weeks when I join the site it doesn't remember me and I have to re-login. That never happened before, since the new s/w though.. they messed around with the cookies and something still isn't quite right leading to these occasional problems.

 

Yeah, that happens to me. I delete my cookies every few days, but have noticed that I will leave the site for a few hours, come back and find that I have to re-log back in. Strange...
