5series.net is much easier to remember and more concise. Given that none of us mind using the .net domain for this forum, I don't that anyone here would mind using it for a much more user-friendly domain name.

It looks like 5series.net wins nearly unanimously. Both are great names but 5series.net is shorter (always better for domains) and has more common people appeal, meaning, probably more people will understand that 5series.net is related to the bmw 5 series than 5erforums.com. I'd prefer the .com version however we're e60.net now so I can stick with the same theme and switch the name to "5 Series Information Network" and "5 Series Forums" -- how original right? LOL.
Now, the only problem is, as I think Rudy previously mentioned is trademark issues. I checked the US Patent & Trademark office and "5 Series" is registered to BMW, albiet fairly recently:
Registration Date December 30, 2003
Owner (REGISTRANT) Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft CORPORATION FED REP GERMANY Petuelring 130 D-80788 Muenchen FED REP GERMANY
Knowing this, should I contact them about the issue or just use the domain and hope for the best? I'll keep 5erforums.com registered and active for life as well just in case. Any patent or trademark lawyers in the house?
