hey ppl, trying to upload new pics in order to put some pictures of my cars and the event i went to for the g meter runs. yet i need to know what software to use cause i recently reformatted my computer and dont have photoshop and i cant get that software until like two weeks or so. let me know if there is a simple way of doing it without photoshop. Paint perhaps? but doubtful. maybe a couple megabyte software i can find off download.com ?

You have a bunch of options depending on if you plan to do other things with the software.

There are dozens of photo resizer utilities available for download from sites like download.com. Some are free, some aren't, etc.

If you don't want to do that, assuming you are using a Windows XP machine, you can use the Power Toys from Microsoft. Power Toys are a bunch of free tweaks that you can download directly from Microsoft. You can download the individual "toys" to meet your needs.

Finally, if you're looking for software that does a bunch of photo stuff for free, you could use Google's Picasa software.

In my opinion, the XP power tools option is the simplest and it's pretty slick...

To reduce my pictures I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager. It came with the version of Microsoft Office on my laptop. I open the picture and then click on "Edit Pictures..." in the tool bar. To the right will be an option to "Resize." I chose "Predefined width x height: Document - Large (1024 x 760px)." Good luck and post those Meet pictures!

I use Photoshop, but there are much less expensive ways to go. If you like inches, I usually go with 11 X 8. The result would be simlar to jiios advice. Also, always use no better than 72 dpi.
