Admins/Mods,
I created a thread today that talked about the performance aspects of the 545i 4.4 V8. I used an IS350 as a gauge. I prefaced my thread asking that the thread not be moved since it was about performance afterall. I specifically took into account what Lomag had mentioned in another of my threads:
My title was "545 performance vs IS350." Clearly, I am wanting to talk about the performance of the 4.4 V8 engine. Initially, I agreed that the thread should be moved to the Competition forum but then thought what constitutes being in the Competition forum? My take on the Competition forum is when someone wants to talk about another brand that isn't BMW. An example would be, "I'm curious about when Mercedes will shoehorn a biturbo to their current V8. How will BMW counter?" This is a prime example that should go to the Competition forum and that is where I would create such a thread.
So, I ask what happened to my thread? Please do kindly explain. Thanks.

I've not moved the thread myself, I don't move too many current threads anymore. From time to time I search out old threads and move those around.
Really anything meeting related belongs in the meet&greet forum. Just keep your title related to the thread and mixups should be avoided.

I was engaged in a debate about whether my performance thread should've been moved or not.
well i guess it shouldnt have been moved... They decided it needed to be RE-moved...
Eh. I dont see it as a big deal... it can go either in the General forum or the Competition. It just depeneds whos looking at it. Who's point of view. Personally I think if its not bluntly obvious where it should go then it should be in the General section.

I would really appreciate it if someone would provide for me the justification for the thread removal. The thread did not contain any obscenities, flames, or anything of the sort.
