I don't agree with the movement of the Socal Launch threads. They are not any different than what grogan545 and Znod post over on the e60 Main forum when they discussion their performance results. The Socal crew is doing the same just that there are a few of us doing it instead of one. I wouldn't think that what we do should be classified as a Meet and Greet. It's more like Fast and Fun. By moving the thread to Meet and Greet, many folks will not see the performance results. Let's face it everyone wants to know what their cars are capable of and we are presenting reality not what some magazine says our cars can do. Everyone will know that with practice and experience will they be able to manage to get similar results like grogan545 and Znod. So, what do you say? Move it back to Main please?

Hi All:
I think the idea is that performance has always been a top-level issue with a great many of us--whether we are talking, about straight-line, trips to drag strips, g-meter testing, twisting the twisties, doing a track school, top speed, or braking. Thus, performance issues always have been dealt with on the "front page."
I can't imagine categorizing a small group of essentially the same guys doing joint performance testing as "meet and greet. The concepts simply are not the same. I, for one would appreciate it if performance matters are dealt with on the "front page" as essentially always has been the case.
Thanks,
Znod

I understand that there is an effort to keep a high level of organization on this forum, but this particular thread is not trying to organize a meet, but rather generate discussion from its results. Moving this thread into localized section of e60.net will limit discussion and input from various members. Vegas and the rest are just looking for a good varied discussion from all e60 members, and not just those from southern california.

Performance related posts are usually the first posts I tend to read. As the owner of a performance sedan nothing gets my attention faster than a post related to the performance of my vehicle.
I think a poll of members would reveal that performance related issues has to be one of the top 5 reasons we log onto the site. How about doing such a poll and then base the final decision on those results?

I've not moved the thread myself, I don't move too many current threads anymore. From time to time I search out old threads and move those around.
Really anything meeting related belongs in the meet&greet forum. Just keep your title related to the thread and mixups should be avoided.

Okay, the next time the title will be "Weekend Performance Results." It's all about the performance of the various cars that will be present: 330s, 335s, IS350, 545s, 550s. That is the primary topic that will be discussed. Many people are curious as to how the 335 will stack up against the 550 and IS350. I hope that we can answer some of those questions fairly soon.
