After further discussion and although no members have complained about this, I've decided to re-add Lounge posts to the "View New Posts" link. Many members use this feature and it's not fair to exclude Lounge posts there. However, Lounge posts will still not incremement a members overall post count.

I'm glad this got changed back. I use the "view new posts" a lot and lounge posts bring a lot of character (and characters) to the forum. True they can be contreversial and not appropriate for family or work but I still want to enjoy them at times. We all need a good "smoothy throw" thread from time to time.

Its not an issue that they don't count towards post counts.
