Hey Mods,
How come when I posted genuine NEWS for owners of early model E60s on the main board (BlueTooth adapter kit now available) --where these owners would see it--it got moved to Bluetooth and MP3 where NO ONE owning a car of early manufacture would ever consider looking, simply because it doesn't apply to them? And all were thankful for the news.
Yet now, in the main room, some clown is hawking blue Angel Eyes, while others are bragging about boy racer stunts, radar detectors, etc. and they somehow maintain their place in the main room?
I'd suggest that some judicious editing is in order, with the emphasis on judicious. In my short-term opinion, the place and topics are being overrun by boyracer/electronics discussions, replete with teeny bopper internet "grammar" and kewl spellings.
Sorry to be an old grouch, but I think your editing needs some judicious forethought.
Cheers,
Ray Hull

IMHO our admins do an outstanding job.
They move ALL posts in the right forums, but they don't have rnough time to be here all day long.
From time to time you see that posts get moved. If not, ALL posts would ONLY be in the main forum.
If I would look for info on BT, I would NEVER start reading in the main forum! That's what the subforum is there for.
If everybody would post his topics in the correct forum right away, everybody would scan the subforums too. So, with posting stuff in the wrong forum, because you think more people will read it there, you only help to create a mess.

Hi Ray:
It seems to me that what happened on your topic is that is is explicitly subsumed by one of the forums--the "Bluetooth & Cell Phones Forum." Each of the forums, other than the "E60 Discussion," states explicitly what things should go there. If something that should go in one of the forums is not placed there, then it seems logical to move it there. In this regard, sometimes it is tricky to decide where a topic should go.
On the other hand, the "E60 Discussion" covers everything else. In this regard, it covers topics that are of both general and specific interest to readers not covered elsewhere. One can get a handle on what topics are valued most highly by larger percentages of readers by the numbers of reads and replies. In this regard, some of the topics you mentioned are valued highly by many. So, all seems essentially right to me, although we might benefit from more sub forums. With respect to language, the language used is a function of the readership. If a certain breed of language is used by a large percentage, then so be it, IMO.
If we want things to be different, then I think it is up to us to lead in the desired direction by example. But, we may get out voted as a consequence of those leading through counter example.

Neither of you gets the point: Those of us with older models have no reason to go to the BT Forum, for until now, it was NA on our cars. Therefore, where do you post information for people who don't know it is now available?
Or put another way: Do you advertise televisions for people who don't have them, on TV? :'(
And FYI, I simultaneously posted the same message on the BT forum, and it was read and replied to about twice. Get the point?

Posts are moved around when Dave (das) and I have time. Dave moves posts once in a while -- it's mostly me doing the moving. I've been away the past 3 days so I have some catching up to do. Anyhow, I was one of the people who was very thankful and excited about your post however it does belong in the Bluetooth forum regardless. The link to the moved post remained in the main forum, with most active members visiting daily, or multiple times daily, anyone who really cares would have seen it one way or another.
