The board software is very easy to use. If everybody would just use it the way it is meant... and please wipe out the stuff in quotes that you are not replieing to...

Yes, I agree. Wipe out the stuff that is irrelevant to your reply. I said that in my post #2. And, later I mentioned wiping out attachments so that they don't get repeated over and over. And, sure why not use the software consistently with its design. But, note that the above post is consistent with the software's design. And, I have no problem if someone decides not to read any post regardless of his or her reason.

Znod, with a few copy/pastes, here's what your post (above) could have looked like:

I often have to do that after I've monkeyed around with the quotes -- it's really no big deal to fix and the result is a forum that can be read well into the future and still make sense.
I always fix the quotes--since I became a member. I even fix the quotes others have messed up. And, I guarantee that I am the most careful editor of my own posts on the forum.

Thanks everyone for understanding these rantings! I'm glad Busta brought it up because I've been "sitting on my hands" about this for some time now... (can you imagine having such a peaceful discussion like this over on RF? )
You are very welcome.

Thanks Rudy. I like the look of what you did. It's a good format. I will adopt it, but, honestly, I can't see that following the thread is significantly different than my last example above. But, what the heck? I like what you did. Thanks again.

Thanks for understanding Znod.

Only one more question -- and I'm not trying to be picky -- but why did you "quote" me in the post above with an empty quote box?

Only to make it clear who I was replying to. In this regard, when formulation a post you can't be sure that another or others aren't about to submit a reply or replies to whoever. If the replies are submitted and appear between your post and my reply, then I'd feel compelled to go back and clarify who I was replying to. So, I just dealt with the issue up front. At the same time, I eliminated unneeded detail from the quote box. Just trying to satisfice on all dimensions that seem to be important to everyone--including making it clear who I am replying to without having to go back and fix things later. See. I didn't do it this time so someone could suggest that I eliminate unnecessary detail. OK, so no one sneaked in between us. So, now I could go back and eliminate the post box totally.

Alrighty then...I guess the "Thanks Rudy" part of your reply would've thrown some of us off...

"Thanks Rudy" was for the suggestion. I quess it would have been clearer if I had not elminated the unnecssary detail. I am confused. I think I will sleep on it. Enlightenment may come with rest. Thanks much for your help. I may be beyond .

And, tomorrow I get to my dealer bright an early--at 7:00 to get 20.X.X--to hopefully allow MP3 play. My build month is 4/05. And, I am hoping for some serendipity--quicker Step shifting--particularly from 1st to 2nd.

Have a great rest of night. Best,

Znod
