Is it me or is the Google search acting funny? I doing a few routing searches a few minutes ago and was surprised to see very few results for some fairly common terms.

Usually, the Google search returns tons more stuff than the built-in (IP search but right now, that's not the case. Did the Google index get trashed or purged somehow? Maybe I'm just imagining this?

I just searched 'F10' using the Google box ... and got 395 hits on the E60 Forum. That sounds about right.

Yes, the same search query returns 5* less information since yesterday. Maybe the forum is getting reindexed but why?

Hmm -- everything looks well to me but in any case whatever google does is out of our control entirely, unfortunately.

Lomag, in this post from a while ago, you mentioned "The Google search should, with time, provide better results. Currently they're re-indexing the entire forum which is going to take some time however once this is done the results should be superior."

Is it possible that they've finished whatever indexing they were doing and now they're returning only the more relevant results? I guess the only problem with my theory is that the results are sometimes too small and lacking some relevance.

Oh well, let's see how things behave over the next few days -- it could just be a temporary thing, I guess...

That's what they told me at the time. Who really knows I guess. Google has a mind of it's own. LOL.

Something is definately wrong here with the Google Search.

I tried the following on google directly restricting the search to this site only and I got what I was looking for within the 180 results.

http://www.google.com/search?q=spoiler+and...0.net&hl=en

Try the same search via the Google search on this site and it only comes back with 7 results and not the one I wanted.

I agree that it's screwed up.

Here's a real easy test using the search term "camber"....

Type 'camber' into the Google search box at the top of any page and you'll get a page with only 8 results. Type 'camber' into the forum software's built-in search function and you get appoximately 140 results.

Type "camber" into Google directly and you get 222 results.
