I don't seem to be getting any emails when some replys to a subscribed topic. I get emails from topics I subscribed to before the forum upgrade but none from topics after the upgrade.

Enable 'Email Notification' by default?

If ticked, choose default type:? Immediate Email Notification? Enabling this option will automatically subscribe you to any topic you start or reply to.
I have "ticked" but still nothing. Sorry if this has been mentioned before - I am trying to catch up after a month away.

Mark,

I did some quick tests and it didn't work for me. I never used it before the upgrade (like I need that much more email!) so I can only confirm that there seems to be a problem now.

If they exist, could it be that the IPB SMTP settings aren't set up properly? The board would need to know who's mail server to pass on the outgoing mail, right? (Somewhere there may be an abundance of queued mail just waiting to be released!) Then again, I just realized that PM emails are being delivered without any problems so what the hell do I know?

Well it seems to be working now. Maybe just talking about it was enough

Thanks

Looks like Lomag may have fixed it before bed. My first notification came at 26 minutes after his "good night" post.

Good work Mark, now to shut off that feature so my mailbox doesn't blow up!

Maybe. There is a setting which would prune subscriptions but that was set to 15 days. I got rid of that setting all together. Maybe it was causing the problem.

OK now it is broke the other way. It used to just send one email no matter how many replies to a topic till I checked the topic. Now is is sending one for each new reply even if I don't check. That is alot of emails for busy threads. Maybe I need to turn it off too. We broke the dam
