Yes, it's called "ignore" and you can create an ignore list in your personal settings.
Just go to "My Controls" then look down the left side near the bottom for the link to "Manage Ignored Users". On the next screen, you can add the user names of people you want to ignore. To take things a step further, on the My Controls page you can also use the "PM Block List" to prevent specific members from sending you private messages...
