bmp's were never supported. They never showed up in the posts.
But you can simply make them jpg's or gif's and then post them.

Is it possible to disable the uploading of bitmap files altogether? Or install a script that will allow us to view it? I would advise putting up a disclaimer. It's quite annoying having to download images just to view them. Just my $0.02.
