I like hot chicks as much as the next guy but that's not really the issue at least for those of us in the sexually-repressed United States. Here, if I opened a post with the kind of racy avatars or pics that we've been seeing recently on this board and a woman saw it who claimed she was offended, she could file a sexual harassment complaint or, even worse, use it as one of the grounds for a sexual harassment lawsuit. This is not some pipe dream -- this is the reality of life here in the good old U S of A. It sucks big time but that's the way it is.

I understand that people in the UK and in continental Europe are not nearly so uptight about sex.

Of course, the puritanical attitude in the US toward human sexuality and the attitude of making sex seem like some sort of forbidden fruit or shameful act not to be discussed explains why the US is the teenage pregnancy capital of the Western world.

Don't even get me started about my feelings about whether organized religion's death grip over politicians on social issues here in the US is bad for my country. Suffice it to say that I personally believe that religion and the state should remain entirely separate -- lest people be compelled by the government to live their lives in accordance with a religion that they do not practice or believe it -- exactly the result that the founders of the US strove to avoid when they wrote the US Constitution's provision barring the establishment of the state religion (the Establishment Clause).

But that's just the way it is here and I'm not giving any disgruntled female employee a pretext to ruin my life and that of my family by launching a sexual harassment lawsuit. Again, here in the US, the male target of such a complaint or lawsuit is basically presumed to guilty and even if subsequently found innocent, the injury to the man's reputation is often permanent.

All of this is a way of explaining why, although most regrettable, it is necessary to keep this website PG-13. If it isn't, many of us will no longer visit it from work or even from a work-provided Blackberry, Iphone or other PDA.

If you want porn and images close to porn, there are about a million websites for that. We all know where to find them.

If E60.net is no longer safe to visit at work, the amount of activity and posts will go way down. And I don't think that any of us want that.

True, but there also weren't any fully explicit avatars that I have seen. So, therefore, not porn.
You just joined back in May, so I'm sure you missed a lot of other avatars

holy shit really? fuck im glad im self employed!! damn
I think you missed the point. Self-employed or not, would you want your client seeing TNA on your screen?

All in all, I've turned displaying members' avatars and signatures off.
All I ask is to include a NSF within a thread/post title to forewarn other readers.

In america, every man is just one sentence or one click away from having his life turned upsidedown. that said, if people around the world cant respect that about their American fellow enthusiasts, then there is no place for you here. believe it or not, we would respect your requests due to a cultural problem in your society.
What? Sorry, yoiu kind of lost me a bit however...

I lived in England as a child, been here in the states for 40 years... I like the girl Avatars, that?s just my opinion. I have Comcast internet service so I use their email, every time I log in there is a picture of some actress/entertainer wearing not much on the home page. If where you work has strict internet rules, stay of the net at work.

I hate the attitude that if 1% of the population is offended by something it should be banned, that?s stupid. My wife sees the avatars sometimes and asks if I am surfing porn, (she is joking) I just say "yes wanna look??

it isnt the internet rules i am making reference to. I like the pics myself by the way, but it takes one glance from an uptight feminist coworker to file a complaint. whether she gets her way and gets me in trouble or not doesnt affect the fact that my name will be tainted as the guy who had an EO complaint or sexual harassment complaint against him. people have sued mcdonalds for spilling hot coffee on THEMSELVES, a sexual harrasment complaint for racy photos on my monitor at work isnt that far fetched.

I know what my internet rules are at work. this site is not blocked. this is the question that none of you arguing against me are answering....

IF THIS IS A CAR SITE, THERE IS NO NEED FOR TNA, BECAUSE I CAN SEE TNA ELSEWHERE. I COME HERE FOR CAR RELATED STUFF. THAT SAID... IF THE TNA CAN GET A NUMBER OF PEOPLE HERE IN TROUBLE AT WORK, WHY HAVE IT HERE? WHAT PURPOSE DOES IT SERVE?

I like completely naked women, but I dont post it here. who cares what you like and dont like, this is a car site, why not keep it car related?

until someone has a reasonable answer for the question in bold, dont bother hitting "quote" or "reply" at the bottom of this post and type some stupid garbage like "i like boobies, dont surf the internet at work" get the f*ck out of here with that sh*t.

I think you still haven't got it. The OP in that link you posted did NOT say he thought it was offensive. He even commented on how he agreed they all have fantastic bodies.

The point (that you're not getting) is that by putting slightly-raunchy pics on a car site, you put the viewer of the site in a state of having to be careful who's looking over their shoulder (whether it be the boss, the wife or the kids). Instead of it being obvious you're looking at a car site, it instead looks like you're cruising the net looking for pics of scantily clad babes. I had that exact experience. The wife walks in and asks if I'm looking at a porn site when I was at a message posted by someone that had an avatar or sign with one of these types if pics.
uuugh.... I do get it, but I only go on line when I finish work, so the boss or some uptight broad at work is'nt an issue, as for the wife and kids, I'm divorced and my girls will sit next to me whilst I'm on this site on my laptop and they know its e60.net!

Respect to Mark in spades.
Hey, I'm not trying to get anyones back up, I'm really not. To be fair I've only just recently realised how many of you fine people do use this site at work, (lucky buggers) I for one would hate to not be able to use this site and if something I've posted has put some one on a sticky wicket, i.e. a chance of not using this site at work, well that wasn't my intention.
And the reason for the thread, was really me being pissed off at the pc brigade, NOT the people on this site.
