I'm pleased to inform you that Internet Brands Automotive has informed us that 5series.net will begin the process of switching from IP Board Software to vBulletin forum software. The transition is hoped to be completed within the next few weeks. We are hoping for a smooth transition, but apologize ahead of time for any forum glitches/problems. Please be patient and know/consider this is not an easy process.

Thank you

Perhaps it has an "Anti-Troll" feature?? (fingers crossed!)

Cant wait, the switch should be for the better. A few other forums use vbulletin and seems to work fine. I'm sure it'll take some getting used to, just like the the last few software changes we had. Hope our signatures and pics remain the same.

Hi everyone!

Sigs and pics should be retained. The two software packages (IPB and Vbulletin) offer similar options and advantages. However, Internet Brands automotive network is almost 100% Vbulletin with the technical expertise to support it. That is important to the community when system problems arise. There are a number of plug-ins for the community such as Itrader (classified trader ratings), Vbulletin Garage for posting pictures and content concerning your cars, robust video and picture linking features, excellent anti spam tools and many more. Another advantage is the CMS (content management system) for the front page which will allow update of home page content much easier. I'm sure many of you visit other communities and the chances are pretty good they are also running Vbulletin. We don't expect any major issues, however, there may be some minor ones and the tech team is very good at resolving them. Thanks!

Bob..
