We'll definately try, but when the F10 launches in the US we have to make some changes.
And for the software, the older the software you use is, the more problems with spam bots you have.

We'll see.
So far, Lomag has done an outstanding job. He never just updated the forums software because there is an update available. And changes in the forums structure were allways done when needed and it has never been a total redesign.
Whew, that is good to hear. I know Lomag does a great job keeping the focus where it should be - on the content of the forum. I need no extraneous FLUFF to make it look interesting, the content is more than enough to keep me coming back (I seem to learn something new about my car each week). I understand some changes need to be made when the F10 is released and I have no doubt you guys will make is a seamless and easy transition.

New software with more features is great but, I do like the relatively unadorned look of this site because it works great on my Blackberry Bold. Some of the fancier forum websites barely work (if they work at all) on the Blackberry.

There are a number of better looking boards out there. But few, if any, match the quality of the content and membership on this board. I can't think of a better BMW-focused board than this one.

Great contact and beautiful aesthetics are not mutually exclusive. Just look at Bimmerfest and Bimmerpost.

I have and there's a ton of advertising and graphics, but not as much information, and a lot of the info there IS posted is posted by members here too. I don't need fluff, just info and some fun with some comrades everything else is unnecessary.

Keep in mind that although I'm not yet up to speed on what new features are available on the new software, it seems as if most of the "improvements" we're looking for (and what's likely driving the decision to upgrade) are things that the end user may not even notice. The improvements are stuff on the back-end -- for example, the current version is now suceptible to the automated spam bots the Iceman mentioned and which, if you've been paying attention lately, have been infiltrating the forums here. Since development has shifted to the new version, it's not likely that any fixes for the current version will ever be released so the "bad guys" will only get more pervasive, etc.

I can't speak for Lomag but I do think he's likely to keep things as simple as possible, like he has done with the current iteration of the boards.
