Help with center bolt N53B30
I'm reaching out to you all the way from Norway in hope for a tip. My stupidity caused me to after an intake clean, forgot the socket with breaker bar in the vibration wheel and when I cranked the engine, the center bolt came loose immediately, the engine came right out of timing and never started. I never tried to start it after that and I have checked the intake valves and everything seems fine (and straight). I have been browsing youtube the last couple of days in hope to fix this. I have ordered a timing set and new bolts for vanos and crankshaft. So I know how to time it.
But two questions occur, first can I tighten the bolt 100 Nm + 360 degrees with only the flywheel locking pin and the camshaft locking tool?
And main question, how do I turn the crank without touching the valves without removing the head?
My plan is to loosen the vanos from the cams, then turn the crank carefully into right position while watching the valves (I have an endoscope) then lock the crank with the locking pin, then loosen the center bolt (it's already pretty loose) fit a new one and tighten it pretty good (like in your video) then turn the cams into right position and lock them with the tool, then tighten them down to specs with the vanos sensor tool in place and then torque the big bolt to specs. Would this work?
