I know, I know…search the boards! I've done that.
Even though this has been asked umpteen times, I'm going to ask again. I haven't found what I'm looking for, so maybe this will be helpful to me - and some others.
Back story:
I have a '14 550i xDrive on the way (ED in September).
Sport Line, with the Summer Performance wheels/tires.
I live in Colorado and have had a dedicated set of Snow tires/wheels. I want the same for the new car.
Questions/clarification:
- my current set up is staggered, right?
- my current bolt pattern is 5x120, right?
- can i fit any 17", 18", 19" wheel with a 5x120 pattern? or are there width limitations?
- my current car ('04 e60 545) has 18" 124 summers, 17" 138 winters :: would either of these be appropriate/fit my '14 550i xDrive?
I've looked at Tire Rack. It's confusing, overwhelming and its hard to imagine the wheels on my new car.
I'd really like to source someone's take off.'s.
Ok, fire away. Answers, comments, suggestions. All is welcome.

Yes, the bolt pattern on all 3 and 5 Series cars is 5x120.
For winter, it is recommended that you get the narrowest tire you can. Generally that also means getting a smaller rim. In your case, you could go down to a 17" rim with 225/55R17s. I'll bet that's what you have on your 17" 138s right now.
So while 05Mdriver's setup is really nice, and would indeed fit your new car, his 255/55R19s are a much wider tire, and not optimal for your Colorado snowstorms.
P.S. The E46 3 Series wheels fit xi cars wonderfully, so you may have a wider selection on Craigslist.

The x-drive cars have a 30 - 45 mm offset. The rims on your 04 545i are probably in the 20's, so no, they won't fit. That's one of the things that sucks about xi cars is that the wheels aren't compatible with other 5 Series models.

I'll look for some e46 take-offs too.
by the way, my current winter tires are 225/50/R17. Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3.
