This one by Thermos fits - and keeps hot drinks hot. My local Target has them.

I did the exact same thing! My sister in law works at Starbucks, and I litterally tried every tall travel mug they had. I remember trying the one you purchased, but I found one that actually fits just a little bit better there.

I highly recommend trying many different mugs. It seems like they change their dimensions and designs all the time.

Bump! Any one tried any recent models of insulated mugs or tumblers?
My Kleen Kanteen insulated don’t fit. (have them in every size too)
Need something else.

My classic BMW themos fits.. it's called the FUSION. https://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/3...FUSION-TUMBLER

You just need to look for one with the same shape, not weird bumps or bulges. Most starbucks ones are hourglass shaped and the bottom is too fat to fit.

Default Klean Kanteen

I ended up going with a Klean Kanteen tumbler(left). The tapered design is 2.5” at base and 3.5” at top.

Given that my Klean Kanteen insulated (right) are just a hair too big at 3”, I think the slimmer bottom tumbler will work well.
