It's not the mirror housing but the glass itself. There's a line present where the concavity varies giving you a wide angle view on one side & a normal view on the other...

Definitely useful. I have the aspherical glass on my M3 mirrors.

i have an extra set of M5 mirror glass OEM.....in case u find mirror housings only.
shame, i just had a set that i let go locally. sold via M5 board.
