If anyone needs to know approximate UPS shipping costs for wheels/tires, here they are from PA to CA & UPS has some nerve!

I shipped my old 530xi 17" 138's with tires to the guy who took my lease over a few months ago. I told it would probably be $60 per wheel. He had no storage for them originally in Manhattan and then moved to San Francisco, CA. So we agreed I'd ship them to him at a later date.

UPS charged $77.54 per wheel/tire @ 54 lbs, for Ground service!!! I paid $62 last year for a 19" rim to CA! They even have the stones to charge $5.53 per wheel for a "fuel surcharge."

They guy sent me $300 and now owes ME money! I expected to be sending HIM a check, not the other way around. And the last kick in the sack was that I forgot to take out the centercaps on 3 of the 4 wheels, which were my extra set. Oh well! At least they're out of my garage!

I Just pick up pizza since with tips, surcharge and all a med. pixxa comes to 20$ or more.
When you end up eating like 2 slices, 20$ is a bit too much.

Try Greyhound Ground Shipping. SAVE $$$!!!

A bumper costs $250-300 to ship from East coast to West with UPS & USPS BUT w/ Greyhound it costs $70!!!!

That sucks Dave!
Those prices are ridiculous, especially for only 17's! Shipping companies really have us by the balls..

Instead of getting the guy to send a check for $30+ why don't you get him to send you the wheel caps back! His shipping costs will work out the difference he owes to you.

when I shipped my 124s last month, they ended up being 40lbs and FedEx only charged me $17.74 each box. I can't imagine that a few more lbs would drive up the bill that much. I have sold 6-7 sets on ebay and have always used FedEx.

sucks about the wheel caps, I did that last year on my wife's 328s

Yeah, UPS is the most expensive way to go. Try DHL, I went straight to their airport location and saved some big bucks.

$17 via Fed-ex? Not sure why an extra 14 lbs. costs $50 more....but it wasn't my money, and I've have been highly pissed had it been. He just owes me like $15 at this point, and that's 4 gallons of gas, so I'll take it!
