Sway bar fitment
Hey everyone,
I got a great deal on M5 sway bars both front and rear.
I've got an 05 530i and was wondering if the front sway bar will fit? There
A few post on the forum about the rear sway bar fitting but nothing about the front.
Any info will be greatly appreciated
Thanks everyone

I'm not saying they would but just wondering why the front sway bars of an E60 M5 wouldn't fit?
I have both front and rear E64 (convertible) M6 sway bars on my 530i....

As far as I know, they're a direct swap front and rear. I like you always thought this was a pretty common mod to do both front and rear M5 bars.

Well I'm gonna be the guinea pig on this one.. I did some research on Realoem and I believe it's a direct fit. Fingers crossed as I placed the order.. I actually went with the M6 front bar as its the thickest. And the M5 rear. I'l update after the install guys

It's confirmed OEM M5 & M6 front sway bars fit 530i.
I went with the M6 bar since it's thicker than M5. The bars have a slightly different shape from the 530's bar but it fits 100%. Havent done any real driving but will report back when I do

Awesome, thanks for updating the thread!
How thick is the M6 front bar versus the M5 bar? How big if a difference did you notice after upgrading?

This is the info on the bars I got from Member jgt
31352283123 - 29mm - M6 convertible
31352282790 - 28mm - M6 coupe
31352283070 - 26.5mm - M5
I got the 28mm bar plus the M5 rear. This was a great mod for me as I have standard non sport suspension and lowering isn't an option to me NYC roads are terrible. This stiffens the steering without compromising ride comfort
I haven't gotten to really test it on the highway yet but switching lanes & turns seem more flat..
Big thanks to jgt as he gave me all the info I needed to move forward
