I am aware of the situation. For all wondering, we are referring to the seats.

From the beginning I really didnt want to ship the seats. However a member on here had been asking me about the seats for some time, and I decided that if I could help her out I would. So she paypaled me the money, and I told her I would arrange the shipping. I spent a few days dealing with the packaging. Then once the seats were packaged, the seats were going to be shipped via Roadway Express. After almost 2 weeks or so of them standing me up, I decided I would go another route with the shipping. Spent another 2 or 3 days inquiring about ways to ship, and came up with UPS. They came out (ups freight) to pick them up, and informed me that the seats were packaged wrong. So I repackage them over the weekend. And we try to ship them again. After being unsuccessful AGAIN, I decide to go with a ups shipper/packing place. I rent a van, and I drop the seats to them. (only about a 20 minute drive, but they will not fit in my e34, or e31. And I dont know anyone with a van for that matter). They gave me a reference number, and told me they would email me the tracking number once it becomes available.

Keep in mind, Ive kept her updated on the status of everything. So after all of this. Her husband calls me, I guess trying to interrogate or intimidate me. So I explain the situation to him, and he tells me he works in the airport business, and basically that im lying about having the seats, and arranging the shipping. I told him I would send him the paper and receipt they gave me at the shipping place later that day. Honestly I didnt send it. I decided at that point that I would just refund the money. Im sorry, but your not gonna basically insult me and call me a liar before asking for proof. I completely understand the situation may been tiring for them, because it was beyond exhausting for me, trying to run a 24hour business and in between have a problem with shipping. Day after day was an issue with the shipping. Im sorry but ive never shipped seats before. So what I was told would be the shipping class turned out to NOT be the correct shipping class. Which the correct shipping class was gonna cost me $498.10 plus about $80 in packing. I told her I would take care of shipping/packing for $200. And due to all of this delay, I never once asked for another dollar. But again after the conversation with the husband, I decided I refund the money, and let the forum bashing begin. Because at this point, I spent alot of time, and extra money to in the end be spoken to like that. So yes, if it hasn't already been done, his money will be refunded on tuesday when I get back from the towman award show.

So you own/operate a towing business but had to rent a van to transport the seats? You don't have access to a flatbed or some other truck?

I hope that what you're saying is the truth but even if it is, you have to put yourself in the buyer's position and look at it from their perspective. There's no need to accuse them of anything negative (like how they "spoke to you" ) since they were the ones that paid you the money in good faith and were getting nothing but excuses from you. I'd love to see how calm and cool you'd remain if you felt someone had taken around $1000 bucks from you!

You told them you sent the seats and promised them you'd send them the receipt you had but now you're saying you never sent the seats. Why would you lie to them at all?

I met spooler in person and dealt with him on a simple transaction, he seems to be an honest seller. But, I agree that the situation with shipping car seats could have been handled differently if not better. Hopefully, once the money is refunded as promised, everything would work its out. GL to both parties.

Spooler,

I can only apologize for my husband's initial tack when he spoke with you Tuesday. However, his request for the shipping documentation was quite reasonable, particularly as it had been promised several days before. Further, if the seats had already been shipped as you stated, then I'm unclear how you could decide not to ship them after the fact. When we didn't hear from you for the second time, I did try to verify with UPS whether there was a shipment in the system coming to me, and they were unable to find anything. Without tracking numbers, it wasn't 100% certain, but it was really at this point that I lost faith in the transaction, as I think anyone could understand. If you are willing to make a full and prompt refund, then I'm willing to put this down to a series of unfortunate events and hope that you will be able to find a local buyer for your seats.

As Rudy said: You have tow trucks, where's the problem?

I work on a towtruck myself, whenever I have time, so I know what you can do with a towtruck, and what they are used for every day.........

It's nice of you to apologize but in my opinion, based on the facts that both of you presented, I don't think an apology is neccessary from your end of the deal...

You were patient for a reasonable amount of time and your patience wore thin when the seller wasn't holding up his end of the bargain and was not communicating with you in an effective way. The good news is that it does sound like this incident will have a happy ending but I have to wonder how a guy can post threads on at least two BMW internet forums about parting out entire an entire car and then not expect to deal with and/or figure out how to package and ship large, bulky things?

Best of luck to all involved!

Excuse my delayed reply. I just got home from MD.

I understand, and acknowledge the fact the situation should have been handled better than it was. To Trudy I apologize for the transaction. And to Rudy, its not that i LIED about anything. At the end of the day, I clearly have nothing to hide as I've posted full details of my self and my business, and even met one member by my office! Its not that I didn't ship the seats out and lied about shipping them. After the failed attempts, the seats were dropped off at what I guess you would call an indirect ups packaging/shipping center. I say indirect, because they do shipping for ups, fedex, dhl, etc. After speaking to a manager, he explained to me that they shop to see who would give the cheapest shipping quote, hence the reason for the reference number as appose to a tracking number at the time of drop off. So, after the conversation with the Mr. I found out the seats were still at their facility, so I put a stop to the shipping. And yes, after already spending about $80 in packaging, and shelling out an additional $489.10 for shipping (when a price of $200 for shipping/packaging was promised), I guess im supposed to pull a truck off the road to flatbed a pair of seats. So this is the reason I CHOSE to rent a van.

Bottom line is, a refund will be issued tomorrow, and everyone moves on. I dont say it that way to be nasty about the situation, but I dont want to keep going back and fourth about the situation. Again, I apologize to anyone who was inconvenienced due to this situation...
