Hello guys
today I bought my M kit from the dealer. cost aprox $1300+tax the parts department guy made a discount as if it was for a body shop not an accesorie. he also make sure that the kit was in stock in one of their werehouses...because the person that also is selling kits on e60 keeps saying that the kit is on backorder.. so I should be getting the kit on thursday..
the question is.. part department guy recommend me a bodyshop for painting and installing the kit and told me that the body shop told him they charge $1700for painting and installing.. I think thats too muchhh .. I am just going to try finding a body shop that just paint the kit.. any idea guys what is a reasonable amount of money for painting and installing???

I just paid $250 to get a M5 spoiler painted. The kit is not that hard to self install, make a weekend out of it and save some cash. There are tons of DIY on the subject.

between 250-500 seems to be reasonable for paint and install...good luck, i'm sure members local to you will chime and help you out. But if you are somewhat handy you can install yourself as many members have gone that route....GL

the guy at parts told me around $1700 painting and installing thats way to much... that was at bmw of Dallas but yesterday I installed my 128's wheels on my car ,bought the wheels at same dealer and the tires at tire rack. and tomorrow I am going to another dealer , the one that I took my car in for services and there I know the S.A , he told me he was going to help me out$$ on the balance and the allingment for the active steering. I just had the wheels mounted on a discount tire no balance or anything hehe...

In April 2006 I paid Hank Aaron BMW $1,600.00 for the ///M kit. Then I paid Nalley BMW in Decatur GA about $1,500.00 for paint and installing my full BMW OEM aero ///M Kit
You can get it done cheaper I'm sure, but just be careful trying to save a few bucks on your fine e60 BMW. The aero ///M kit is a cool looking kit, and is a good change!! (Make sure they will blend your paint to match if needed). Good luck!!

I will try to look for some one that I can trus, if they paint the kit using the same color # is that ok or you are saying that they have to match the color paint not going by the color code?

$1700 is not that outrageous for painting and installation of a full kit, but it's definitely not the homie hookup price. I paid about $1000 for my front bumper, side skirt, grilles and trunk finisher to all be painted and installed.
