For the RPI exhaust, if I have a MY 05 545i, would I need to cut my stock exhaust?
Also, how loud is it? I want it to sound like a v8 should, but not wake the neighbors or have drone ringing in my ears on the highway.

You will have to cut the stock exhauast. It can be reattached with the same coupler that joins the RPI exhaust to the stock piping. When driving under normal driving conditions and windows up the exhaust is barely noticeable. But when you are at full throttle the RPI exhaust really wakes up. Search YouTube for some sound clips
