hi
i have a full retro fit navigation system (genuine bmw) to convert your non sat nav car or upgraqde from business nav.
it includes everything you need to compleate the EASY plug in genuine BMW parts.
ALL YOU NEED EXTRA IS TO HAVE THE CAR PROGRAMED AFTER YOU HAVE FITTED IT.
8.8 (widescreen) monitor
CCC drive (2x CD/DVD units)
I-DRIVE (high)
LVDS cable
ccc fan wiring harness
compleate instalation instructions (BMW)
DVD navigation maps
this would increase the value of your E60 by approx ?3k
and make it much more saleable/desireable.
costs from BMW ?2700
used but out of a 2006 car and in perfect working order.
?1250

you also need the second microphone and wiring harness for that, not to mention the GPS antenna sharkfin (if the car doesn't have the BMW assist) and the wire from the antenna to the CCC (required whether you have assist or not.)
It is a rather easy plugin and the price is quite reasonable for all that you are including. Good luck with the sale.

you only need that stuff if you want the voice activation....
if you just want the proffesional navigation then you dont need the mic etc.
but yes your right if you wanted the "full monty" it could easly be added at a later date for next to nothing.
the instructions cover the voice fitting also if thats the plan.
as far as the shark fin goes you can just add a sat nav ariel under the dash, it works perfectly and costs peanuts, leaving your original sharks fin airel in situ.

I forgot this was a UK kit. Here in the states it's all or nothing. We have no nav business, only nav pro, and it comes with voice activation. But you're right, not needed if you don't want it.
