Before I traded in my car, I parted a few of the mods I had on it, and this is the only thing left to sell. It only been on the car for a few months, and it's in solid condition. Here is the listing:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=180490519076

Asking $75.00

Dan, if I am not mistaken, the RPI scoop for the 550 is unique to that car alone and scoops for other E60s do not fit it.

i've seen cars with two of these mounted behind the grille. why do you have one? is this the difference between what you need for a v6 and v8?

Is that right? I'll look into it, thanks for the heads up.

The car you saw with 2 mounted behind them was most likely an M5 because it has intakes on each side of the car. I only have 1 because the 530 has one intake which is located on the driver side. The air scoop assists the air flow going directly into the intake system which increases horsepower by a little bit; but it also just looks cool lol.

Yes that is right. It is confirmed on RPI's website. Your scoop will not fit the 550.

Someone mentioned dual scoops on the V8 - some people have a dual duct mod on their 545s and 550s - search the forum to learn more, but in a nutshell, it is a second air duct leading into the airbox. It adds some performance and employs dual scoops on the V8. Original mod is by Dinan, but there is a "bootleg" version that you can fabricate yourself inexpensively, if you're a little handy and have the tools.

Can't believe none of the I6 guys jumped on this scoop yet! I bought my scoop about 6 months ago and I can't tell you guys how much it is worth the money. And I paid more than this! RPI FTW

PS Another confirmation (not like you need it) - this will NOT fit V8s.

The air scoop is definitely worth it! I changed the listing to correct the fitment issue.

Maybe that was what was stopping people. Either way, best of luck to you!
