i've had it for 2 years. but i haven't used it for a year since I jumped on my d200 and subsequently the d300. notice, i got rid of the d200 and kept the d70s as my backup. the d70s is still one of the best dslr below $1k. only a photographer would know why the d70s is still better than the new entry level nikons out there. a combination of feature, size, and reliability.
thanks for looking.

$400 is a GREAT price. someone should definitely jump on this.
But to say this is still better than the new entry level Nikon's out there is a little bit of an overstatement.
A photographer wouldn't know why either, because I've never seen any of my colleagues and peers use a Nikon D70s.
Look at the specs of some entry level Nikon's (like the D5000) and some sample photos. The D70's is definitely Not better. And that's not throwing other brands such as Canon into the mix.
But for $400 (include the lens), it's definitely a GREAT buy! GL with the sale.

better than new entry nikons under 1k? how bout the d5k and the previous d80?
Here's an 'old' review but still a good reference on the features of the d70s...

Again, I don't intend to make this post a debate with other Nikon owners. It's an opinion from a price/performance perspective. The 18-70mm DX lens is a very decent lens out there.
