I got this iPod interface cable/adapter when I purchased my car last year but I've not used it as I've mainly been using a USB key. Anyway, decided to sell it. The cable is in pristine condition and has never been used. I've only opened the packaging when I initially got it to inspect the item.

Picture of the item I'm selling:

Selling for £30 including postage to UK (will consider near offers as well). Payment via Paypal only.

If you're interested but outside the UK then drop me a PM with your location and I'll price up how much extra it will be for shipping.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

A part number may help. The part number is stamped on the black plastic housing at the middle of the cable.

Part number 61 12 0 440 812 superceeds the previous PN of 61 12 0 440 796 (ended in August 2009). I have the 796 which does charging at Firewire 12V. I believe the newer cable charges at USB 5V. The 812 cable was in production as early as 2008, so there were actualy two types of cable available concurrently for a period of time.

Some Apple devices will charge with either cable. Newer devices like the iPhone 3G, 3GS 4 and Touch charges only at USB 5V. It seems Apple is doing away with Firewire capability with the new devices they put out.

For some reason the part number on the packaging doesn't match the part number on the actual cable.

Number printed on cable: 0440 796
Number on packaging: 61 12 0 440 812

I think the number on the cable is more reliable but cable being sold as see.

This is probably the 61 12 0 440 812 cable (most recent). They were sold as and boxed as "812", but "796" was still engraved in the cable. This cable should charge iPod, iPhone and iTouch as well.
