Wow this started off very poorly with some negative comments. Now I've got 4 offers. What time is it there now? I'm currently i Southwest Asia, and its 6:50 PM. I left the wheels with my next door neighbor, who owns Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists. He completely refurbished the wheels.

Thanks for the push, appreciate it. For someone who's serving currently in Southwest Asia (yes there's still a War people, read your news!) it was difficult to send pics I didn't have. I had my neighbor take the pics and post online for me. He owns Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists and did damn fine job refurbishing them. I intended to sell them prior to me coming home for some R&R. Then pick up my new M6 166 Rims in Newport, RI from Gary at BMW of Newport. I even purchased spacers so the rears would be flush with the fenders.
Now I've got 4 offers!!! Again I appreciate the push, and give us (those who stand on the wall) a break!!

I bought lots of stuff before from unknown people online. When I didn't feel comfortable enough, I either don't buy it or travel to where the product is located to inspect it prior to handing over my cash. That method usually works for me. Heck back in my younger days, I drove from Nor Cal to So Cal just to inspect a kit before I brought it home. Of course now shipping charges are more reasonable people just want it to be shipped.
BTW I think M6 wheels are 167, not 166.
Hopefully everything goes smoothly for you and the buyer but like I said, it is a steal for a set of 19" OEM 166.

I'm glad I came across this post. Do I need to specifically ask for the M6 166 wheels when trying to order/purchase? Or do I need to ask for m5 166 rims with the m6 offset. It seems as though every seller I ask has no clue what I'm talking about or thinks I have lost my mind when I ask if the m5 wheels have the m6 offset. One seller even blew up at me and said that I didn't know what I was talking about and that BMW only makes one m5 rim and there is only one offset. Lastly, I emailed the Internet sales rep at this website http://www.bmwclevel...duct=70#details where I plan to purchase M5 wheels and asked what offset these were. He responded and said the offset was 12 front and 18 rear. When I asked if these were the m6 offset he had no idea what I was talking about. any suggestions?

This has been posted before in other posts. Everyone you may come into contact with that sells BMW parts is not knowledgeable about every aspect of the vehicle. That's why there are many sources. That's why this Forum is so invaluable, it brings all these resources to bear. Not everyone you come across is an enthusiast either, they're just out to make money. So instead of telling you that they don't know something, they would rather say it doesn't exist so they may sell you their products. Always check at least 5 sources. honestly I seriously didn't know that there was a 166 style for the M6...never seen it, haven't read about it, at least here.
BTW, elite or whatever status doesn't mean that much too me besides the fact that I'm spending too much reading things about my damn car worrying that something else might go wrong.
